I’m an art explorer of new terrains. A nomadic artist who creates to live life.

 

I’m Josh and I’m a landscape/pet portrait painter.  I enjoy painting in an impressionist, emotional style in which my goal is to capture the essense of my subject.   I use a restrictive palette (3-6 colors) of environmentally-friendly, water-mixible oils to provoke a greater color harmony.  I also have an abstract-quality,as I love to go wild with the brushes when it’s called for!  Always done it this way because I love simplicity and value compassion and creativity.

I’m a frugal, unpretentious and sensitive artist who is incredibly grateful for people supporting my career and for the path I have chosen.

 Let’s just say I’m still a work in progress, I never stop learning.  Traveling enhances my life in a very positive way.

Painting has always been one of my great joys in life, as it has added great meaning and purpose to an otherwise dull existence in which I’m not a fan of.  I am pretty adventurous, I will travel just about anywhere I can to learn about my environment and to paint it when it moves me.  I’m a mobile guy, but my roots are still in New Jersey and my adoptive home of New Mexico.  I love both places for many personal reasons.

I also love teaching, as I have done a few art workshops in the past.  I hope to do more, as I treasure the bond of a teacher/student dynamic.  I feel it’s important to pass on my knowledge to others who want to learn from me.  I embrace this responsibility of being a great advocate and teacher in my profession.  This is apparent why I enjoy blogging and making videos.
