Sangre de Christo Scene

Sangre de Christo, 4"x4" acrylic on gatorboard

Here’s a quick acrylic painting from my window view of the Sangre de Christo Mountains in Santa Fe.  It’s about 4″x4″ on gatorboard.  I just used 3 colors and a white with a 2″ round brush.  What I liked about making this one, was that there was a still life painting underneath prior to painting the landscape.  You can see the underpainting of the purples where the sky is.  That was my favorite part.  It gives it more depth, especially that it was done near dusk.

Also, new changes on the website.  Now you can sign up for a free monthly newsletter and comment on my posts.  Anything for attention, but at least you’ll be entertained!
