My medium French Pochade box

My medium French Pochade box

I just got a special order from the other side of the big pond. It just took 8 days to get my new pochade box from Judson’s Art. I decided to get it because I needed something small and very simple to carry around. In the past, my other French easel had moments where it was a bit cumbersome to carry. I live in a place where it’s pretty crowded and I didn’t desire to get all the crazy attention from just carrying an easel.

But I feel it’s good to have two options now. I can still use the larger easel for larger paintings and in the studio. When the time comes to teach workshops or painting with students, I have an extra easel they can use as well.

I can’t wait to get started, this little pochade box can fit into my backpack, can carry panels up to 16×20, which is most of my work. I can envision painting small works around Taiwan and turn a few into larger ones on my other easel. So stay tuned for what I’ll paint first on this little gem.

I also have an art show in Hsinchu starting this Saturday, February 14. Anyone who wants to go can follow this link.
