Chinese Baby of Woyang Village

In the winter of 2016, I traveled to rural China to volunteer for a few weeks teaching art and working with students to create a mural in their village. During my stay, I met all kinds of interesting people, including this cute toddler whose grandmother was raising her. This kid’s had a rough start in life but maybe she’s the hope her village needed. Here, she’s holding her grandmother’s hand. I wanted to get as many details as possible too. Thanks to a Taiwanese master painter, my portrait skills started to elevate and this is the result.
